Kingdom Treasures Preparation
The Basics
Much of weekend will be spent indoors, but we will be out on the land for field work and at least one of the evening events. So, here are a few things to keep in mind, especially for international travelers.- Bring long pants and sturdy shoes for walking in the bush
- Bug spray suitable for ticks
- Layers of warm clothes
It can get nice and warm in the middle of the day, but May is an early winter month. We will be out in the morning and late evening, and both can be rather chilly.
Worship Under the Stars
One of the events we hope to have is an evening in the boma, celebrating the Ancient of Days and the story He has created of our universe. Since the beginning of time, the stars have been singing of the glory of God and His great unfolding plan of redemption, of which we are all a part. How do you need to prepare?
We all have stories within the cosmic unfolding Story, and each of our lives are a testimony to the God of time. We ask that each person bring a story to share. A story that demonstrates the fingerprints of God through your experiences – something from the past that He has used to impact your life now. Something you can see that you gained, or how you grew, or what you received or gave as a result of that page or chapter in your story. Please keep your story within 5-10 minutes.
Not everyone may have a chance to share, but your preparation is a gift you bring, regardless. The story that you carry in your heart will be part of the worship, whether you speak it or not.
Communion
One evening we will have a full communion meal, celebrating the finished work of Jesus Christ the King and the covenant that transforms our future. Jesus brought the heart of the Father into human reality – the Author became part of the story. Only then could full redemption happen for ALL of creation. How do you need to prepare?
We want to add to the expression of honor and reverence of the King through our presentation. We will not set a dress code, but are asking you to consider what that would look like for you. For some it might be a dress, or full suit and tie, for others a special piece of jewelry, or a piece of clothing with spiritual significance. Consider what would be a statement of honor to the King.
We invite you to bring a symbol (like a piece of paper) of something you wish to rededicate to Christ, as King and Lord of your life. Each person will have an additional plate where they can put the wine and bread on that symbol as a statement of their covenant.
We ask that you ponder some thoughts about the future. Christ redeemed our past, and the covenant secures our future. What can you celebrate about where God is taking you? Where do you see His hand unpacking your design or destiny? What is He building in you for the future? Even if it is a challenging season now, we can still worship by faith, knowing we are being prepared for an expression of His life through us. Let's end the evening by celebrating by sight what we see now, and by faith what God is going to do in the future. Please keep your story within 5-10 minutes.
